Debra Grossman

I have enjoyed being a Founding Partner in the firm of Kurland & Grossman, PC in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and obtained a BA in Political Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School. I have been actively engaged in the practice of civil trial law in all courts of the Commonwealth for more than forty (40) years. In addition to the practice of law I have previously hosted a weekly radio talk show called “Legal Briefs” for eight (8) years and have engaged in real estate management.

I have been privileged to lecture in the past at Middlesex Community College, UMASS Medical School, and a variety of continuing legal education seminars. I am an active member of the Greater Lowell Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Family Law Section, Massachusetts Family and Probate Inns of Court. Prior affiliations include the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers and the Boston Bar Association.

Until recently, I served as a member of the City of Lowell Historic Board and have previously served as its Vice Chair and Chair. I enjoyed serving as a longstanding member of the Advisory Board of CTI/SuitAbility and a member of the Board of Trustees of Merrimack Repertory Theatre, where I was honored to serve as President of the Board of Trustees.

I was deeply honored to have been recognized by the Lowell Sun as one of the Outstanding Women of Our Region for 2015 and in 2016 I received the Greater Lowell Bar Association, Normand D’Amour Award as Attorney of the Year. In 2018 I received the designation From Massachusetts Super Lawyers as a Super Lawyer and as a Boston magazine’s, Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts. These recognitions are very meaningful to me as I have endeavored to leave a positive mark on both my professional and civic communities.

My professional, civic, philanthropic and cultural involvement is primarily centered around Greater Lowell, Massachusetts where I have resided for many years.
